Interior Design — How to Renovate a Tiny Rental Kitchen

Blogger Autumn Hachey gives us a peek inside her tiny apartment kitchen, which she updated with the help of her landlord on a strict budget. See how she transformed the small space to reflect her personality while spending as little money as possible.

After living in her basement apartment for five years, Autumn, who loves to entertain family and friends, decided it was time to update the kitchen. Keeping budget top of mind, she started by replacing the lower cabinets and adding DIY open shelves on top, which was the most affordable option. A hardworking island functions as storage space, a prep area for cooking, a workstation and dining table. A pink statement wall adds a dash of cheer to the predominantly neutral space. Autumn decided to splurge on accessories, like hand-painted ceramics from her favorite artists, since she can take those items with her when she moves someday.
